New Fabric
At Larissa Kate Lingerie, we are doing everything we can to work towards a more sustainable future in fashion. As promoters of ethical and sustainable practices, we are so excited to announce the launch of our summer collection, featuring our all-new bamboo fabric. Focusing on natural and clean beauty, each piece in the collection is a lovely olive and white stripe pattern made from our new bamboo and organic cotton fabric. Our cotton, starring alongside the bamboo, is Certified Oek-Tex® Standard 100.
The bamboo tree is a fully sustainable source of fabric. It regenerates within 55 days and is completely biodegradable. By regenerating, bamboo does not require the replenishing that cotton needs for harvesting. Additionally, the trees require no pesticides to grow. Unlike cotton, which requires frequent irrigation to grow properly, bamboo uses very little to no irrigation, allowing it to thrive with 1/3 the amount of water that cotton requires. Just one acre of bamboo will yield 10 times the volume of fabric that one acre of cotton will. This allows for harvest and production processes that move us towards sustainability.
This collection was ethically made in the USA by local women, promoting our focus on safe production processes. With preproduction done in Austin, TX and small batch production split between NYC & Dallas, TX.
